Some stuff you didn't know...

6 Favorite Places I've lived:
Wasilla AK-yes I lived there when i was 2-5yrs old. But its definitely "cooler" to live there now than when I did. Sarah Palin helped with that.
Cheney WA- 4th grade-7th grade, this is where my dreams of horses became a reality and my parents invested in a pony for Nan.
Gooding ID- 8th-10th grade, The place where my life began. I got my license when I was 14, first kiss (not a good one!), and some of the bestest friends I ever had.
Rexburg ID- college. What can I say, It was home to some of the greatest experiences for me...including hotdogging.
Gaithersburg MD- Mitch and I spent our first 6 months of our married life there. I hated the big city, but the things we saw in Washington DC were memorable.
Palmyra NY- "lived" there for about 6 weeks while I was in the Hill Cumorah Pageant. My mini mission. Loved touring and feeling that good old spirit.

5 Favorite Snacks I love: Definition: some of these aren't snacks, but I eat them like they are...
1. milkshakes (from anywhere, you really can't get a bad one- just remember to take a lactaid before hand, or you'll have some serious problems.)
2. Jumbo Jack- no onions, no cheese.
3. A large Coke anytime
4. Lemon bars
5. Fruit pie

5 Jobs I've had:
1. pooper scooper- my family owns the Humaine Society in Hermiston- and whats a little child labor huh mom?
2. Papa Murphy's- I rocked at this job. I ended up working for several years (around my sports schedule) and became the owners pet. My dad still says free pizza every night led to his weight gain and health probs.
3. Vet Tech- I did this in several areas where I lived. My "favorite" was in Rexburg where they had LOTS of calves with scours. You don't know what that is? Google it. Make sure you look at the pictures.
4. Greyhound ticket agent- Nuff said.
5. Mom- Tiring, busy, but rewarding

If I had a million dollars:
I would do all the regular stuff...and then take Mitch and I to Cabo. Where we could walk around on the beach in our thongs and no one could say anything about how fat we are. (ever been to Hawaii?)

5 things I love:
1. My family (extended too)
2. The Gospel
3. My house (always a work in progress- Mitch and my dad put in my new windows. I love it)
4. Horses (a given)
5. A good competitive game of Volleyball. Hopefully I'm playing in it.

Camera SheNANigans

I uploaded the pictures from the camera this morning and I found that the kids were playing with the camera and took some unsolicited pictures, most notably the following three.

Yes, I realize I said the kids were playing with the camera. Looks like a couple of big kids to me. Expect a post on Mitch's blog soon about how his wife won't kiss him anymore!

Satan is fighting...

Yesterday I made my daily bank run. I happened to cash a small check for $57.00 or so. The bank teller gave me the cash and my debit card back inside a white envelope. Trying to hurry I sped out of the parking lot to my next errand- not looking inside the envelope. About 3 hours later I was driving again doing more errands (I hate errands), when I finally checked the money. The teller had put $77.00 mistakenly in the envelope. I knew right away, I should drive back to the bank and return it. But in the short drive there, I debated with temptation if the bank really missed it at all.
My greyhound workers make small mistakes all the time and I just eat it.
Maybe she already chalked it up to "lost."
I could run to Old Navy and get a cute sweater...
I could use that 20 bucks for paying my water bill.
Maybe it was a gift?
What's 20 bucks to a huge bank-nothing right?
Man I really could use a Bruchi's pepper steak sandwich!
When I finally arrived back at the bank the weight had been lifted off my shoulders, that quick. I gave the money back and explained the problem. The teller didn't even thank me for my honesty (nice). But I KNOW I'll be blessed more than $20 bucks for doing that small feat.

Can still light my fire

This guy is the MAN. He is getting up there in years but still there's something soooo cute about a guy who looks that good in a saddle. Watch him here with his
57th #1 hit in his career.

(sorry for the link- His video wouldn't embed on my blog)

Mitch took me to his concert when we were first married. We sat in the 3rd row. I was floored. His voice is just soooooo pure....country. And he can really ride. His son and him are world ranked header and heelers.

A bone to pick...

(not me-in case you couldn't tell)

So, if you are a huge fan of Stephanie Meyer and I mean HUGE, you probably should steer away from this post. Just casually click on the next person on your favorites and pretend I posted about my kids and their funny antics. I do not wish to offend anyone, but I gotta post my feelings.

I recently finished the last book in the Twilight series. If you know me you know my feelings already and this last book sealed the deal for me.

BLEEEECHHHHH.
One word: RENESMEE? Really Stephanie, that's all you got?

Thanks to Laurel for letting me borrow the book. I'm not professing to be an world renown author. And I'm sure its difficult to do what Stephanie did. I did find it kinda entertaining, it just didn't tickle my fancy. Sorry Alicia you can kick me out of the family now.

Quote for the day...

“I believe in Christ as I believe in the sun at noonday.
Not because I can see it, but by it I can see everything else.”

YEEESSSSS!

The ball and chain is a little looser these days. Yes, my Juan has taken the leap to sell bus tickets on his own. What a relief! I can have a few days peace until the next big thing at the hound happens. Like, drunk guy gets kicked off the bus, or someone misses their bus because they were buying a rockstar, or a deaf lady gets off the bus and claims she needs to go to the hospital, or the keys don't open the sensor for the automatic doors or...

A freckeled faced red haired girl

My previous post about the Gilmore Girls reminded me about this little gem:

This Movie was one of my favs, I can even sing this song word for word.
Crazy how it all comes back huh?

Do you have a song or a movie that takes you back to a place long ago?

Come back, we miss you...

As summer comes to a close and we set our DVR for the new TV season we fondly remember old times, the witty banter between the Gilmore gals and the people of Stars Hollow. So for your viewing pleasure I am posting a video of some of the best knee-slapping moments.

Long live Lorelai and Rory...

SHOUT OUT...

Darc and I are sending out a sister post to you. Hang in there. Can't wait to meet "Crazy Ivan."

Quotations from "Baby Mama" the movie...

"Is that chocolate or poop,"

"Can I just spray a little Pam down in that area before the baby comes out?"

"Congratulations, Kate. I want to reward you with five minutes of uninterrupted eye contact."

"Sorry I farted in your purse."

Love ya,

Nan and Darcie
